This is one of our favorite jobs we have ever done!  Our customer wanted something unique, and we started with the idea of an apocalypse type finish.  As we discussed it we started to settle into a junk yard idea, and we began trading rusted out old "Beaters".   Below are some of the images we traded! 

We focused in on how the colors were faded, and the way the rust was concentrated in different areas.

We started out just like factory cars, we put on a real finish on it.  We tried to match an Original Orange VW Bus, off white roof, Orange body, and some chrome accents.

With the clean finish on it, it was time to "Beat it"

We went all out, we custom mixed 10 different shades of cerakote, airbrushing just a bit at a time and constantly adjusting it.  

We created a super secret concoction of cerakote to create the rust.  It has an actual texture that you can feel.  Nice and rough, but don't let the finish fool you, it is 100% functional.  No operation is hindered by our cerakote.  Like what you see?
